Express Sport keeps you up to date with all the latest transfer news
The quiet start to the January transfer window has delayed the inevitable wave of transfers which should take place before the end of the month. Although winter is considered a trickier time to conduct business than summer, the worrying positions of several Premier League teams suggest it could be a busy four weeks.
Manchester United are looking to emerge from a full-scale relegation battle, according to manager Ruben Amorim, while reigning champions Manchester City are only hanging on in the race for a top four finish.
The stakes are still high toward the bottom of the bracket, where five wrestlers jostle to avoid the second tier.

Tottenham flirted with transfer for Prem star
Tottenham have considered Wolves goalkeeper Sam Johnstone as cover for the injured Guglielmo Vicario, according to football.london.
Fraser Forster received mixed reviews as he replaced the injured Spurs goalkeeper, raising the possibility of Ange Postecoglou finding a new option in the January transfer market.
And Johnstone may be achievable, given he has slipped behind Jose Sa in the pecking order at Molineux.
But Tottenham are now expected to stick with Forster until Vicario returns.
Man City join race for £25m star
Manchester City have added Abdukodir Khusanov to their January transfer wishlist, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle United have already been credited with interest in the 20-year-old Lens centre-back, who represents Uzbekistan at international level.
City boss Pep Guardiola is looking for a way to strengthen his porous defense.
And Khusanov, who has made 13 Ligue 1 appearances this season, is one of the most coveted young defenders in Europe.

Victor Osimhen at Man Utd takes a turn
Victor Osimhen's potential move to Old Trafford, in a swap deal involving Marcus Rashford, appeared to have been dead and buried due to the Manchester United striker's huge salary.
Osimhen's parent club Napoli are still said to be struggling to pay Rashford's £315,000-a-week salary.
But according to The Sun, Napoli boss Antonio Conte will not leave the issue unresolved. The former Chelsea and Tottenham manager is “still exploring a deal” for Rashford, reopening the possibility of a sensational winter swap deal.
Osimhen has no future at Napoli after being loaned to Galatasaray for the season, while Rashford also appears to have reached the end of the road.
Napoli are able to recall Osimhen from loan if his £62million release clause is triggered, it seems.
