With the 2024/25 Premier League season set to kick off in just two weeks, clubs are looking to accelerate their transfer plans ahead of what promises to be an incredibly competitive campaign at both ends of the table.

Manchester United and Chelsea have both overseen major rebuilds this summer and have been the busiest clubs of the 'Big Six' so far. North London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal have also dipped into the market with defensive acquisitions, with Spurs now hoping to deflect their neighbours' pursuit of Dominic Solanke.

But not all the big clubs are strengthening at this stage, with Liverpool yet to make a move and Manchester City having only signed Savinho. The Reds are expected to attack the market at the end of the season, with speculation continuing over a move for Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon after a reported move for him fell through earlier in the window.

Express Sport provides LIVE transfer updates and gossip below…

Tottenham plot to hijack Arsenal transfer

Tottenham are reportedly considering signing Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke as they scour the market for a new number nine.

The 26-year-old scored 19 Premier League goals last season and impressed with his holding-up play and clinical finishing, earning him a spot on Arsenal's shortlist of striker targets.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Tottenham are also interested in Solanke, although no formal offer has yet been submitted.

Spurs are keen to strengthen their attacking ranks as soon as possible and an offer in excess of £50million would test the Cherries' resolve.

Newcastle complete £15m deal

Newcastle have reportedly agreed a deal to sign William Osula from Sheffield United.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Magpies have agreed a deal worth a total of £15million for the striker – with Eddie Howe's side paying an initial £10million to acquire the 20-year-old's services.

Osula is keen to join Newcastle and now the 'final details' are being ironed out.

Fulham make £23m bid for McTominay

Fulham have reportedly submitted a third bid for Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the new offer is worth £23m, which is still below the Red Devils' valuation.

Erik ten Hag regards McTominay as an “important team player” and would like to retain the midfielder's services, but the Scotland international's contract expires next summer and a sale could therefore be necessary if the club's top brass are unwilling to offer the academy graduate a new deal.

United are therefore prepared to part ways with McTominay if they receive an offer in the region of £30million.
