With just eight days to go until the new Premier League season kicks off at Old Trafford, several clubs have stepped up their transfer operations. Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool are among the teams expected to be active in the final three weeks of the summer window.

United are considering signing a right-back, another centre-back and a central midfielder, but appear unable to add to their two arrivals without selling players.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are in talks with the Red Devils over a star signing as they close in on one of Mikel Arteta's top transfer targets.

And Liverpool – the only Premier League team yet to sign a player this summer – look set to enter the fray soon.

DONE DEAL! Newcastle sign William Osula

Newcastle United have announced the signing of Sheffield United striker William Osula.

The 21-year-old Dane played 21 times in the Premier League last season and represented his country at U21 level.

Osula lands at St. James' Park for an estimated £15million.

He said: “I'm very happy to be here. It's a big club, a great club, so I'm very happy to have the opportunity to join Newcastle United.

“It’s a great opportunity and as soon as I heard about Newcastle’s interest I knew I had to take the chance to join this club if it came along.

“It happened and I'm really happy to be here.”

Eddie Howe added: “William is a talented young striker with all the attributes to be an exciting player for Newcastle United.

“We have been following his development closely and are delighted to have the opportunity to work with him in this next stage of his career.

“I know our supporters will join me in wishing William a very warm welcome to the club and the city.”

Crystal Palace consider Wilfried Zaha return

Wilfried Zaha could make a surprise return to Crystal Palace this summer.

According to the Telegraph, Zaha is set to leave Galatasaray on loan, a year after signing as a free agent.

The Premier League is said to be a likely destination for the 31-year-old forward, with Galatasaray seeking a £9million loan move.

Martin Zubimendi agrees to join Liverpool

Real Sociedad expect Martin Zubimendi to agree a move to Liverpool if the two clubs agree a transfer fee.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool would have to pay the 25-year-old midfielder's £51.7million release clause in full to sign him away from Real.

Arne Slot has identified a number 6 as his priority in his first transfer window at Anfield.

The report adds that the Basque club will allow Zubimendi to leave if he submits a transfer request.

Manchester United and Arsenal in compensation talks

Manchester United are reportedly in negotiations with Arsenal over a fee for 16-year-old striker Chido Obi Martin.

Obi Martin has already completed his Manchester United medical and agreed personal terms after allowing his Arsenal contract to expire earlier this summer.

But The Athletic report that the Red Devils still need to offer a payment for the wonderkid before the deal goes through the Premier League's ratification process.
