Some of the highest paid football managers in the world.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has become the highest-paid football manager in the world following the dismissal of Roberto Mancini from his post with the Saudi Arabian national team.
Mancini reportedly earned around £21.5 million a year, but had his contract terminated after a 14-month tenure that included seven wins from 18 matches and an early exit from the Asian Cup.
His departure was also marked by complaints about the influx of foreign recruits into the Saudi Pro League, which he said limited the playing time of his first-team players. The development now puts Guardiola at the top of the earnings list with an estimated £20million.
However, Guardiola's future at City remains uncertain as his contract expires next summer. The Spaniard has yet to make a decision on whether to stay, but at the moment he is by far the highest-paid manager.
In second place is Arsenal's Mikel Arteta, who recently signed a contract extension which would have increased his salary by £9m to £15m.
Atletico Madrid's Diego Simeone, who was once considered one of the highest-paid managers in the world but cut his salary last year from £16m to £13m a year, completes the top three.
Simeone narrowly beats his managerial challenger Carlo Ancelotti, who reportedly earns £9.6 million a year from Real Madrid following a contract extension last season.
Pep Guardiola is now the highest paid football manager.
In fifth place, José Mourinho is making waves in Turkey with reports he pocketed £8.7million a year at Fenerbahce, proving the 'Special One' still dominates the footballing world even when he is not at one of his main clubs.
Elsewhere, former Benfica manager Jorge Jesus rakes in £8.4million each year with Saudi champions Al Hilal, a team graced by Neymar, Ruben Neves and Joao Cancelo.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot and Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.
Luis Enrique sits comfortably in seventh place, raking in around £7.5million a year, according to figures from The Sun, while Premier League duo Arne Slot and Erik ten Hag are neck and neck in the profits department, both allegedly on £6.8 million, courtesy of Liverpool and Manchester United respectively.
Rounding out the top ten, Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany is said to have an annual salary of £6.7m, which could rise to £7.67m with potential bonuses.
