Warwickshire Police released a statement on Thursday following an incident involving the Real Madrid team bus on the M40 near Warwick.

The collision happened just a day after their Champions League defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.

Eyewitnesses shared images on social media of the bus, which appeared to have crashed into a truck and was stationary on the side of the highway. Police confirmed the accident involved a car, a truck and the coach, but fortunately there were no serious injuries.

It is important to note that none of the Real Madrid players were on board at the time, as they had likely returned to Spain shortly after the match. The bus was used to transport equipment needed for the match.

“Our officers responded to reports of a collision involving a car, a truck and the coach of a well-known football team on the M40 southbound between junction 16 for Hockley Heath and junction 15 for Warwick “, details the police press release.

“Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. The players of the famous football team were not in the coach at the time.”

This is not the first incident for the recently unveiled bus, which fits the design of the club's £1.5 billion Bernabeu stadium rebuild; he had already been involved in an accident in Germany earlier this year during the Champions League last 16 first leg against RB Leipzig.

For this match, the team was forced to land in Erfurt instead of Leipzig due to a strike at the latter's airport. This resulted in a 160 kilometer coach journey during which, as reported by the German tabloid Bild, they collided with a white Toyota.
