Pep Guardiola's wife has made a surprising admission after their 30-year relationship ended.

Guardiola and his ex-partner Cristina Serra have three children together, having started dating when the Manchester City boss was a player at Barcelona.

Cristina had returned to Barcelona in 2019 with one of their children, but five years later Spanish media confirmed she had split from long-term partner Pep.

It was claimed, according to Spanish media, that the two parted ways when Guardiola committed his future to the Premier League side, leading Serra to decide “enough was enough” and end to the relationship.

In her first public appearance since the breakup, a smiling Serra spoke about how she's been doing well since news of the split was revealed.

Spanish showbiz journalist Lorena Vazquez claimed cracks in the relationship began to appear in late 2024, with Serra stopping his regular visits to Manchester.

After announcing their separation, Vazquez said on a podcast: “After Cristina returned from Manchester to Barcelona in 2019 to focus on her business interests, it is true that the first rumors about her marriage to Pep surfaced, but no one dared to talk about it. there is a relationship crisis and even less a breakup.

“That was until last September, when members of Pep's professional entourage in Manchester were surprised not to see Cristina in the city after the summer holidays and began to wonder why she wasn't not in Manchester with him.

“It was normal until then to see Cristina in Manchester from time to time, although she had stopped living there full-time in 2019 and mainly divided her time between Barcelona and London.

“They had continued to see each other and participate in family activities and they continued to be a couple whenever they met. Last September, Cristina stopped appearing in Manchester.

Explaining the reason given behind the split, showbiz journalist Laura Fa added: “She made the decision when he decided to extend his contract with Manchester City because in the previous months, Pep was preparing his departure from the club. We know that one of his goals was to leave and settle in the United Arab Emirates.

“People around him were starting to say goodbye to him because he wasn't going to reconnect.
