Noel Gallagher was part of the TNT Sports commentary team as Man City lost to Sporting on Tuesday
Noel Gallagher concluded his appearance on TNT Sports by telling viewers “I'm not coming back again” after watching his beloved Manchester City suffer a 4-1 drubbing at the hands of Sporting on Tuesday night. The Oasis legend was in the commentary box alongside Darren Fletcher and Ally McCoist for the Champions League encounter.
Gallagher is one of the Citizens' most famous supporters and visited the Estadio Jose Alvalade just three days after his trip to Dorset to watch City's 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier League.
He gave his opinions throughout the evening, but his appearance was criticized by some people on social media who questioned his credentials for the role.
City made a fast start to the game as they sought their third win of the Champions League campaign, Phil Foden firing the ball into the back of the net five minutes after stealing possession from Hidemasa Morita.
And the visitors could have killed the match in the first half because they had other opportunities in front of goal. But they were punished seven minutes before the break when Swedish sensation Viktor Gyokeres equalized.
Sporting took the lead 20 seconds into the second half through Maximiliano Araujo, before Gyokeres scored a third from the penalty spot. And after Erling Haaland hit the crossbar with a penalty midway through the second half, Gyokeres completed his hat-trick with his second set piece of the evening 10 minutes from time.

Manchester City were beaten 4-1 by Sporting in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Fletcher suggested after the match that Gallagher's presence could have been a problem for City after joking that he and McCoist usually saw Guardiola's side winning.
And later, Gallagher mischievously ruled out his return as Fletcher returned the floor to Laura Woods in the TNT Sports studio.
Gallagher, who is set to return to the stage with Oasis next year for their first tour since 2009, had egg on his face after the match as he exclaimed after Foden's strike: “I didn't think it would be this easy. “

But he spoke well throughout the meeting and even spoke about Pep Guardiola's future at the Etihad Stadium, with the Spaniard's current contract set to expire next summer.
“When he came here we just finished in the top four,” said the 57-year-old. “He told me before [next] The season started, we were going to win the championship. I thought, “That’s a big cry.” But he made 100 points. He's a wizard. Players are completely under his spell and run through brick walls for him. He has everything. »
Gallagher then added: “Personally, I think he'll stay another year because it gives everyone a chance to breathe and reflect on what they've done.”
