Manchester City have won the Premier League title six times under Pep Guardiola
Manchester City have been told they are not guaranteed to win the Premier League title this season unless they sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze. City have won the Premier League title six times during Pep Guardiola's eight-year reign at the Etihad and have lifted the trophy in each of the last four seasons.
Eze has emerged as one of the Premier League's best attacking players in recent years and shone last season as the Eagles enjoyed a revival under Oliver Glasner.
The 26-year-old, who was part of England's Euro 2024 squad, scored 11 goals and provided four assists in 27 Premier League appearances as Palace finished 10th.
Former Chelsea winger Pat Nevin was asked about the Citizens' Premier League title hopes during his appearance on the In The Zone podcast. And the Scot explained: “Obviously [Julian] Alvarez is gone, that's a big change. I think it freed up some money.
“Now all you Crystal Palace fans listening, cover your ears. [Michael] Olise left for Bayern Munich but Eze is a better player. And Eze, for me, in any big club, is revolutionizing the world.
“Any of the top four, five or six clubs are much better when they have Eze in their squad. Manchester City made a small offer last season. They won’t forget him.

Manchester City reportedly eyeing Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze
“His numbers last season were fabulous. Eze’s last two seasons have been incredible. He scored one in four goals, one in five. Remember, creation is his thing. Last season, the season before, the numbers were top notch. If you said to me, Manchester City plus Eze, yeah. [they will win the title]. Manchester City without Eze. Maybe.
City have a long-term interest in Eze, with reports last month suggesting the north-west giants could have to fork out £68million for the ace.
Guardiola's side launched a last-minute attempt to land the creative genius on trade deadline day last summer but were thwarted in their efforts when they were unable to meet Palace's transfer demands.

But they could finally reach an agreement in the coming weeks thanks to the £81.5million they will receive from Atletico Madrid in exchange for Alvarez.
Atletico completed the signing of the 2022 World Cup winner on Monday afternoon after the forward scored 36 goals and made 103 appearances for City.
According to the BBC, Atletico will initially pay £64.4m for Alvarez, with a further £17.1m expected in add-ons.
