Jack Grealish has been linked with a surprise move to Manchester United
Manchester United are reportedly considering a surprise move for Jack Grealish, who faces an uncertain future at Manchester City.
The former Aston Villa striker has struggled for game time in recent months and has scored just one goal for City in his last 21 appearances.
Grealish's poor form has recently been criticized by Pep Guardiola, who urged the 29-year-old to work harder on the training pitch to win his place back.
“He has to compete with himself,” Guardiola said. “Savinho is in better shape and everything than Jack and that's why I played against Savinho. I know he can do it because I've seen him and I want him in every training session and every match.”
The 29-year-old has struggled to impress in recent times and was recently criticized by Pep Guardiola.
This has led to speculation that Grealish could be shipped out before the start of next season, with United among the clubs keen on his signature, according to The Sun.
They have reportedly joined three other Premier League sides to keep tabs on the winger. Ruben Amorim is said to be desperate for reinforcements after winning just five of his 15 games in charge of the Red Devils.
If the move goes through, it would make Grealish the first player to directly cross the Manchester divide since 2009, when Carlos Tevez swapped United for City.
The report adds that Tottenham and Newcastle are also monitoring the situation, while Aston Villa are said to be interested in bringing their former player back to the West Midlands.
