Pep Guardiola took on a group of autograph hunters with an expletive-filled rant and warned them not to demand his signature again in a fiery exchange.

In video footage circulating on social media, the Manchester City boss appears to harshly reprimand four men, one of whom is behind the camera and is not seen.

Football fans held out their jerseys for Guardiola to autograph, who appeared to recognize they were potentially looking to make money from his signing.

As he agreed to sign the jerseys, the 53-year-old issued a chilling warning to them not to run again in the future, before launching into a speech questioning their life choices.

“Don't come back, I won't tell you again. I know your faces,” Guardiola said in the clip posted on X (formerly Twitter). “Go to school and get ready, guys.

“You are children, you are young… [points to a man] Well, you're not young! You guys are young, so don't waste your time here. Do you want to live life like this? Or [live] honestly?”

When one of the older gentlemen intervened to mention that he was a chef, Guardiola replied: “So let's keep doing that, eh?”

As he continued to speak, the Catalan interrupted him and became animated, shouting: “Well, prepare yourself better, prepare yourself better! Damn man! It's for everyone. What are your dreams? Tell me what.” That's it, what are you dreaming of my friend? Go train there!”

Guardiola's performance may have been unconventional, but football fans on social media praised his reaction.

One fan, @AyandaMaqhoboza, said: “Nothing wrong here. Basically telling young people to sort out their lives and do something bigger but better. Like any father would really.”

Another X user, @SlimThompy, said: “These absolute helmets. Pep is perfect.”

But @ABKTTTL17 said: “Without these guys people wouldn't have signed memorabilia on their own walls. I think it's just arrogant, no need for pep talks, just walk past them if you don't you're not interested.”

As one of the greatest Premier League managers of all time, Guardiola's wisdom probably shouldn't be ignored – and his rants aren't just for autograph-seeking fans.

He is often seen giving impassioned speeches, not only to his own players but also those of the opposition. Nathan Redmond once got a weird earful from the eccentric tactician after City beat Southampton in December 2017.

Despite looking furious and even being caught by the coach, Redmond claimed Guardiola was “only very complimentary and positive” about his performance.

But even the City boss admitted he needs to control himself better and “improve” in future after being asked to explain his comments to the FA. But he didn't learn his lesson, giving another coaching masterclass in the same way to Adama Traore after City beat Fulham 3-2 in October 2024.
