Liverpool does not anticipate a renewed offer from Real Madrid for Trent Alexander-Arnold before the transfer date on February 3.

The Reds firmly rejected the Spanish giants when they officially informed the possibility of acquiring Alexander-Arnold from Anfield during the holiday season.

The rear right contract should expire at the end of the season and, with negotiations on a new judgment agreement, the reals are considered the main ones to secure its services during a free transfer in summer. However, a serious injury to Dani Carvajal and a lack of right senior options prompted the defenders of the European Super League to express their interest in Alexander-Arnold earlier than expected.

Despite the immediate rejection, the Liverpool Echo reports that discussions did not even address potential costs before Liverpool clearly shows that they had no intention of selling the international in England this month. Spanish reports suggested that Real was ready to make another attempt to sign the player.

But it has now been revealed that the European champions recognize Liverpool's determination to keep Alexander-Arnold for the rest of the season, with the Arne Slot team leading both the Premier League and the Champions League, Reaching the semi-finals of the League Cup and advancing the FA Cup.

According to a report by the Spanish media Marca, Real Madrid is now focusing on the conclusion of an agreement with Alexander-Arnold once his contract expires in summer. The Liverpool player, 26, who is in the last six months of his contract, is free to discuss the terms with foreign clubs.

Alexander-Arnold, as well as the teammates Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk, will see their contracts expiring at the end of the season. While Salah and Van Dijk expressed their wish to stay in Anfield, Alexander-Arnold has not yet revealed his future plans.

This story appeared for the first time in the Liverpool Echo.
