Liverpool have found the 'perfect replacement for Mohamed Salah' who surprised Cristiano Ronaldo

Liverpool icon Didi Hamann believes Khvicha Kvaratskhelia would be the ideal candidate to succeed Mohamed Salah at Anfield. The Georgia international, who shone for his country at Euro 2024, is widely tipped to leave Napoli this summer.

Kvaratskhelia played every minute of Georgia's campaign before his side were eliminated by Spain after reaching the last 16 for the first time in their history. He also eclipsed Cristiano Ronaldo by scoring in Georgia's historic group stage win over Portugal.

The 23-year-old helped Napoli win Serie A two seasons ago but is looking for a new challenge ahead of the new season. Hamann believes he would be the perfect man to replace Salah at Liverpool if the Egyptian maestro manages to settle in Saudi Arabia.

“I like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, I like him a lot,” Hamann told Gambling Zone. “I read an interview and his father said that they have to find a solution regarding his future this summer. Everything indicates that he will leave Napoli and that his time at the club is coming to an end.”

“It's a great story because nobody had heard of him two or three years ago. He came to Napoli and won a Scudetto playing absolutely brilliant football in a breathtaking season for the club. He's a guy who gets people on the pitch. He's a player that people are prepared to pay to see.”

“When you go out on a pitch on a Saturday, it’s players like him that people talk about, that people want to see. He gets the crowds going. He’s a very humble guy. He would be brilliant at Liverpool, and if you’re talking about replacements for Salah, then he’s probably the ideal replacement Liverpool could find.”

Kvaratskhelia has scored 51 goals in two seasons with Napoli since joining Georgian side Dinamo Batumi in 2022. He plays primarily on the left wing, but his two-seater allows him to cover the right flank when needed.

His agent, Mamuka Jugeli, has already revealed that his client wants to leave Napoli before the start of the new season, with his preference reportedly being for a Champions League club, suggesting that Liverpool could be an attractive destination for him.

“I don't want people to think that Kvara wants to stay in Naples,” Jugeli said last month. “We want to leave, but we are waiting until the end of the Euro so as not to upset Khvicha. The priority is to join a team that plays in the Champions League.”
