Kyle Walker has vowed that Manchester City will not give up and give up on their title hopes despite a horrendous run of form. The defender has been brutally honest about the team's recent performances, admitting they have fallen short of their own high standards.

After losing 2-0 at Anfield, Pep Guardiola's reigning champions find themselves 11 points behind leaders Liverpool, making a fifth consecutive title this season unlikely.

However, Walker is adamant they won't give up, sharing a heartfelt message with fans on social media.

He said: “We know our recent performances have not lived up to our expectations and we realize it has been difficult. But we have been through these challenges before, together, and we will overcome this one too. .

“It is important that we all stay together as a club, Manchester City, during this difficult time. Your support, whether in good times or in difficult times, means everything to us.

“We won titles in the final games of the season and made history with a record 100-point campaign, right down to the last shot.”

“We have shown time and time again that we can rise to the challenge, and we will again, I promise you, we will fight to the end.”

City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega also weighed in, saying: “I think they are 11 points ahead, so first of all we have to win the game and start our series, but it's December and I I learned, especially here in England, this season is really long and really difficult.

“It's not the time to talk about titles, but obviously we're not giving up, because I think in my first season when we won the championship, Arsenal were, I think, how many days at the top? just over 200.

“So we are capable of winning games in a row, but we have to start as quickly as possible, but I'm pretty sure we will bounce back.”
