Jude Bellingham and his doting mother had very different reactions when they visited his lavish £5.5million Madrid home for the first time. The Real Madrid and England star has unveiled the first part of his YouTube series 'Out of the Floodlights' which offers a glimpse into his life off the pitch.

The first episode, titled “Casa Blanca,” chronicles his final days at Borussia Dortmund, who narrowly missed out on the Bundesliga on the final day of the season, followed by his move to Madrid. After his presentation at the Bernabeu, Bellingham is followed as he begins house hunting, accompanied by his mother Denise, father Mark and footballer brother Jobe.

As she enters the property that will become her eldest son's home, Denise comments on the scorching summer heat, saying, “It's extremely hot, it's going to be stifling.”

Jude, on the other hand, tries the residence's elevator and is amused by its slowness, joking: “I thought it would 'zoom'.” His tour extends to the back gardens of the house, where the sight of a fireplace makes him envisage social gatherings. He adds: “Get a table over there, some cards.”

In love with the house, he reflects: “I don't want to go too early to see something better, but I also don't want to leave and see it 'sold'. It's good, really good.”

In the end, he accepts. The luxury hotel, located in Madrid's upscale La Finca neighborhood, reportedly features high-end amenities such as a gym, home theater, gourmet kitchen, private pool, and stunning views of the Lafinka Golf Club and surrounding mountains.

Her former Real Madrid colleague Toni Kroos and Cristiano Ronaldo are said to own similar properties in the area. Denise moved to Madrid to support her son and resides in the same sprawling 650m², six-bedroom mansion.

In a light-hearted moment in the series, Jobe jokes that Jude is “useless” in the kitchen, suggesting that if he learned to cook, their mother could stay in England. Meanwhile, it is Jude's father Mark, 48, who remains in the UK to support his brother Jobe, whose transfer to Sunderland last summer also features in the episode.

Reflecting on his meteoric journey from Birmingham City to Madrid, Jude says: “Three years from Birmingham to Madrid is not bad.”

He explains why he chose to give an intimate glimpse into his life: “If it helps people get to know me better, that's great. If people are still not happy, then… [shrugs shoulders]” . “

Future episodes will cover his remarkable first season with Real, where he won the La Liga title and the Champions League, beating his former club Dortmund in the final at Wembley.

Bellingham has been sidelined from the recent Nations League games against Ireland and Finland with a calf injury. Following the injury last month, Real announced: “Following tests carried out on Jude Bellingham by the Real Madrid medical team, the player has been diagnosed with a plantaris muscle injury in his right leg. His progress will be monitored.”
