Jack Grealish
Arsenal icon Thierry Henry has delivered a scathing criticism of Jack Grealish's involvement in Manchester United's opening goal in the recent Manchester derby. With City leading and the minutes ticking down, Matheus Nunes made a poor back pass to Ederson which was intercepted by Amad, leading to Nunes fouling the United player and conceding a penalty.
Bruno Fernandes scored from the spot to equalize. However, Henry pointed to an earlier incident in which Grealish, instead of challenging United captain Fernandes, opted for a back pass which eventually reached Nunes.
Speaking on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports, Henry expressed his frustration: “It was at home and I screamed. I screamed because that's not the Jack Grealish I saw at Villa, he’s not the Jack Grealish I saw arriving at Man City.” and added: “No matter what time it is, no matter what it is, no matter where you are, when the ball comes towards you here, and I see Bruno Fernandes coming and maybe Gundogan makes a run, all I’m trying to do is get it done.” at that point it's you taking the ball and positioning yourself.
“You position yourself and see what's going to happen. I don't know if I'm going to dribble it. You don't just go the other way. You want to stay here, you want to possess the ball. It's minute 86 or 87, why do you want to invite them into your half?
“You want to stay here. Especially you and what you were doing. I'll be honest, sometimes coaches think for the players, maybe too much. But I don't care at that moment, you're on the ball. , you have to decide.
“You have to feel the game. You can't always turn around and say 'my manager told me so'. They come back, why? They come back, why? Again and again and obviously Man United will push. Why do you invite them to come when you were in a one-on-one situation?

After a series of poor performances, City manager Pep Guardiola admitted he was lost: “Not much to say. No defense, they were incredibly persistent. We haven't lost eight games in two seasons. We We can't defend that. It's not about this or that player. We conceded goals, it's our fault.
“The results are not good, the match was not exceptional. I know the situation, I understand but the reality is this. I am not good enough. I am the boss, the manager, I have to find solutions and so far I have not succeeded. This is the reality.
