The FA Cup third round draw takes place on Monday evening, with 64 clubs eagerly waiting to find out their next opponents. All 20 Premier League teams and 24 Championship teams will enter the tournament in the next round, joining the remaining 20 clubs who will progress from the second round.

Last season's winners Manchester United will be eager to retain the trophy under new manager Ruben Amorim. The lowest-ranked teams still in the competition – Gainsborough Trinity, Harborough Town and Kettering Town, all from seventh – will be hoping for a glamor draw against one of the top teams if they win their second round matches.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will be hoping to get off to a positive start in their search for more silverware after bright starts in the Premier League and Champions League. And Manchester City will look to put their recent malaise behind them with a view to a deep cup run.

Draw date and time

The third round draw is scheduled to take place on Monday December 2 on the BBC, with coverage starting at 7 p.m. and ending at 7:30 p.m. The draw will be presented by Kelly Somers, while viewers can expect a former professional guest to appear.

TV info and live broadcast

British audiences can watch the draw live on BBC Two or online via the BBC Sport website and BBC iPlayer, as well as on all Emirates FA Cup social media channels.

When will the meetings take place?

The FA Cup Third Round matches are scheduled to be played on the weekend of Saturday January 11, 2025. Matches are scheduled to take place between Friday January 10 and Monday January 13.

The clubs who emerge victorious in the third round will pocket £115,000 from the competition's prize fund. This is enough to encourage the small teams still in the running to organize a surprise.
