Details of Erling Haaland's new contract with Man City, salary breakdown and huge net worth

Erling Haaland is set to pocket at least £260million at the end of his new nine-and-a-half year contract. The 24-year-old Norwegian striker has been a sensation in English football since his £51.2 million move in 2022 from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City.

Under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola, Haaland scored 111 goals in 126 appearances for the Blues, winning two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and a Champions League – with hopes of adding more silverware in the future . Despite recent rumors linking him to Real Madrid, Haaland has affirmed his commitment to the northwest of England, signing a nearly decade-long contract that will keep him at the Etihad until the end of the season 2033/34.

The deal would also eliminate all existing release clauses, although a new one would be activated from 2029. It is expected that Haaland will see a significant increase from his current salary of £375,000 per week, rising to around £500,000 per week – and that’s before bonuses.

This means Haaland could amass a staggering £260 million before tax by the time his contract expires in 2034, given his salary would also be backdated to the start of the current Premier League season. Breaking down his salary, £500,000 a week equates to £71,428 a day or £2,976 an hour, reports the Manchester Evening News.

If Haaland's estimated net worth of £32 million ($40 million) is added to the substantial sum he will earn over the next decade, his bank balance will likely reach nine figures. This estimate also excludes sponsorship deals and performance bonuses, which are common for sports stars of his caliber.

According to Forbes, Haaland has also partnered with major brands like Nike, EA, Breitling, Dolce and Gabbana and Midea, securing lucrative sponsorships that have further increased his income.
