David Beckham49, accepted an Emmy Award during a video call for his Netflix docuseries Beckham: What Makes David Run.
The former soccer star and his wife, Victoria Beckham, have received nominations in five categories at the 2023 Netflix Documentary Awards.
The docu-series triumphed in the Documentary or Nonfiction Series category at the Creative Arts Emmys in Los Angeles on Saturday.
Producer Fisher Stevens accepted the award on David BeckhamOn behalf of. During the ceremony, Fisherman didn't fail to include David in the celebration, calling him via video to share the exciting news.
In a clip posted to the Emmys' official Instagram page, a group gathered around Fisher as he broke the news to David.
“Very good, David,” Fisher exclaimed into the phone.
Beckhamvisibly delighted, responded in kind: “Unbelievable,” he replied.

David Beckham He expressed disappointment at not being able to attend the event in person, but assured Fisher that they would celebrate together in the coming weeks.
The four-part Netflix series offered an unprecedented glimpse into David Beckham's career and personal life. It provides an insight into his journey as a footballer and the beginnings of his relationship with Victoria.
The docuseries was nominated for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series at the 2024 Emmys, competing alongside Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, STAX: Soulsville USA, Telemarketers and The Jinx – Part Two.
In addition to winning the award for best documentary or non-fiction series, the series was nominated in several other prestigious categories.
These included best photography for a non-fiction program, best direction for a documentary/non-fiction program, best picture editing and best musical composition.
“It’s a real honour for me and the entire creative team to have BECKHAM recognised by the TV Academy,” Beckham said.
