Cristiano's scissors: "I only have 30 minutes, can you do it?"

P.Edro Vieira is the hairdresser of the Portuguese national team. His story begins far from scissors, but through the vagaries of life, he was entrusted hair of the stars of Portuguese football. Six years ago, he left his old job, searched the Internet for “profitable professions without investment” and found his destiny.

He remembers his first footballer: Jesus Corona. At first he thought it was a joke from his friends, but it was just the beginning of an incredible story.

He is now the official hairdresser of the Portuguese national team; he cuts the hair of Cristiano Ronaldo, Dalot, Vitinha and even “Bob Martinez”. He has become one more player in the Portuguese camp. He doesn't play football, he doesn't train, but he has a more than important job: making the players feel good about themselves.

Dalot's message

“Dalot told me, Cristiano is going to get his hair cut with you, he's last on the list. I started to get nervous and while I'm cutting Dalot's hair he says, 'Cristiano's already coming' and I say to myself, my God, he is going to come and I begin to hear his voice. I start to hear him sing, because he was coming from the gym and I think, he's really coming, I'm going to meet him“, explains Pedro.

A dream, that of cutting the hair of the “best player in history”, which had to wait. The first time, Ronaldo canceled at the last moment, but his opportunity presented itself. “I'll never forget it. He started talking to me and said, 'Sir, can I be here? And I told him, of course, this is your house, not mine. And he started talking to me, really, like: sir, I can sit here, sir, I can see your haircut,” Vieira said.

Cutting his idol's hair was a milestone in his career, especially considering the “clock.” “I did the haircut in about 25 minutes, because Cristiano doesn't like to sit in a chair for that long. He said to me: 'I only have 30 minutes, can you do it in 30 minutes ?'. And I said: yes, I will,” Pedro remembers.

The best feeling is when you go to the stadium and he scores two goals and you think I cut his hair, he scored two goals and that's my haircut. You feel very happy.

Pedro's story invites us to reflect on destiny. His seems defined, but who knows if life will surprise him again. At the moment he is the best Portuguese hairdresser and the Portuguese stars chose him for good reason. The future is unknown, although he jokingly mentions the name of the Spanish player he would like to work with: Lamine Yamal.
