Cristiano Ronaldo's uncle was rushed to hospital after being involved in a motorcycle accident.

Cristiano Ronaldo's uncle Jorge Viveiros was reportedly rushed to hospital in Jersey after being involved in a collision with a Smart car. The incident happened on Wednesday in St Helier, the capital of Jersey.

Portuguese reports suggest firefighters had to rescue him before he was taken to hospital. After spending a few hours under observation, Viveiros was released and is now recovering at home.

Viveiros is the brother of Ronaldo's mother, Dolores Aveiro, who is often seen at his matches. Ronaldo shares a close bond with his mother and even returned to Portugal from Saudi Arabia to celebrate her 69th birthday in January, gifting her a brand new Porsche.

Currently, Ronaldo is with Al-Nassr in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, but he is in the last seven months of his contract. The 39-year-old footballer is yet to decide on his next move, but has frequently expressed his ambition to continue playing to break more goalscoring records.

His mother wants him to return to Portugal and finish his career at Sporting Lisbon, the club she supports and where he began his career before joining Manchester United. “Ronaldo must come back here,” she once said.

“If it was my choice, he would already be here. He likes watching Sporting matches.

“I already told him: 'Son, before I die, I want to see you return to Sporting'. He says: 'Let's see': But if it can't be him, then Cristianinho!

She even hinted that Ronaldo's son could surpass his father's prowess on the pitch, highlighting his early progress in the sport. “At his age, he plays better than Ronaldo,” she said.

“At that age, Ronaldo didn’t have a coach but today Ronaldo is his son’s teacher.”

She added enthusiastically: “He's already saying 'Dad, when we move to Lisbon, I want to play for Sporting'. Now he's starting in Manchester. [United]. Seeing them both together at Sporting was my dream, it would be spectacular.”
