Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez recorded the video
Argentina players have been heard singing a racist song towards the French in a video posted on social media by their star Enzo Fernandez. The Chelsea midfielder was on Instagram Live celebrating on the team bus after their return to Buenos Aires to celebrate the Copa America win when a peculiar chant could be heard.
After being translated by Spanish speakers, the Argentine players sang: “They play for France, but they are Angolans. His mother is Nigerian, his father Cameroonian, but on the passport, they are French.”
This came after Argentinian fans sang another offensive chant towards a French player, Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe, the chant containing the words: “They are transvestites like ——- Mbappe”, a chant targeting the forward for his alleged relationship with Ines Rau.
Hundreds of fans reacted to the chants on social media, with many disgusted by their lyrics and Fernandez proudly recording himself singing them.
