Uzbek defender Abdukodir Khusanov has signed a four-and-a-half year deal with Manchester City from Ligue 1 side RC Lens.
The young talent's transfer is expected to cost £33.8m (€40m), with additional bonuses included in the fine print.
The 20-year-old's signing represents a first for an Uzbek national and he will wear the number 45 shirt for the Premier League champions.
With the deal confirmed, Khusanov told Man City's official channels: “I'm absolutely delighted to be joining Manchester City, a club I've loved watching for a long time.
“This team is made up of the best players in the world and I can’t wait to meet them and play alongside them.
“And of course Pep Guardiola is one of the greatest coaches of all time and I am very excited to learn from him and improve my game even more.
“It is a very proud moment for me and my family to join a great club like Manchester City and I am more than ready to take on this challenge.”
City's director of football, Txiki Begiristain, reacted: “We are very happy that he is joining us and we are all very excited about what he will bring to us.
“For such a young defender, Abdukodir is already very intelligent, as well as being strong, aggressive and extremely fast.
“Working with Pep will only make him better and speaking to him he is determined to keep improving.
“He’s a really exciting signing as we want to continue to progress to maintain one of the best teams in Europe.”
Khusanov's contract with City will last until the summer of 2029.
Khusanov began his professional career in Belarus with Energetik-BGU before moving to Ligue 1 in 2023, where he made 31 appearances for RC Lens. He also won 18 caps for Uzbekistan.
