Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior will miss the upcoming Champions League clash with Liverpool due to a hamstring injury. The Brazilian ace, who played the full 90 minutes of Real's 3-0 win over Leganes, is believed to be out for a month.

“Following the examinations carried out today by the Real Madrid medical services on our player Vini Jr, he was diagnosed with an injury to the biceps femoris of his left leg. His progress will be monitored.”

Although the duration of his absence is not yet confirmed, Spanish media estimate that the 24-year-old could be out for almost a month.

While Real Madrid face Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday, they have had a mixed start to the Champions League this season, currently sitting 18th in the table, while Liverpool lead the league stage with a perfect record.

Vinicius has scored 12 goals for Real this campaign, including two hat-tricks in recent matches. Carlo Ancelotti's side, trailing Barcelona by four points in La Liga but with a game in hand, prepare to face Getafe at home on Sunday.
