Oscar Bobb is reportedly keen to fight for his place at Manchester City next season despite interest from Chelsea.

Pep Guardiola's side have made just one signing so far this summer, acquiring Savinho from fellow City Football Group side Troyes, leaving the door open for some of the club's youngsters to break into the first team.

Bobb is among those expected to be on the fringes of the starting XI, having made 14 Premier League appearances last season and scored his first first-team goal. The winger has also been in sensational form in pre-season, earning him links with other top clubs.

However, transfer expert Ben Jacobs reports that Bobb remains keen to prove his worth at the Etihad Stadium and is “happy” to push for minutes for the Premier League holders.

Chelsea are among those interested in signing the 22-year-old and they have looked at the Norway international as part of their search for a right winger to rival Noni Madueke for a place in their starting XI.

Enzo Maresca, who crossed paths with Bobb at City, is said to be an 'admirer' of the tricky winger but they will be forced to turn their attention to alternative targets.

Bobb has been widely praised in recent weeks for his performances on the right flank during City's pre-season tour of the United States, with former defender Joleon Lescott among those to praise the forward, saying he has been a “remarkable part” of the sensational team.

He said: “I think Oscar was the most outstanding player in all three games. [of City’s pre-season tour of the United States] So far, I think he's probably made the right decisions, regardless of the outcome.

“His decision-making was perfect and that's all you can ask of someone so young. But from any player, if he finds himself in the right positions, what is the result?”

With City expected to challenge for trophies on all fronts and look to improve on their historic treble, Guardiola will be relying on his squad depth to step up and be counted on when called upon and Bobb will be among those the former Barcelona boss is expected to regularly rely on.
