Express Sport brings you all the latest news
We are exactly two weeks away from the first Saturday of the 2024/25 Premier League season, in a time frame that will ring alarm bells at clubs at both ends of the table. Transfer operations will need to be accelerated in the coming days if teams want their new signings integrated into their squads before the start of the campaign.
Manchester United and Chelsea have entered the summer with major overhaul plans, with both clubs at the heart of those rebuilds. North London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal are expected to shop in the same market as the window begins to close, with a striker a priority for Ange Postecoglou and Mikel Arteta.
Liverpool are yet to make a move in the transfer window, but Arne Slot's side look set to make a late breakthrough, with four signings rumoured to be in the pipeline. Several stars, including Joe Gomez and Wataru Endo, have been linked with departures from Anfield, leaving significant gaps in the squad if no replacements are found.

Manchester City star denied move to Al Ittihad
Ederson will not join Saudi side Al Ittihad this summer, reports Fabrizio Romano.
After negotiations failed to show any positive results between the two clubs, Al Ittihad have opted to turn their attention to alternative targets and are set to acquire the services of Mallorca's Predrag Rajkovic instead.
It had already been speculated that Ederson would be open to the idea of joining a Saudi side this summer after appearing restless at the Etihad Stadium and so it remains to be seen whether other teams will come forward who can meet City's expensive demands.
Arsenal end pursuit of Viktor Gyokeres
Arsenal are reportedly set to end their pursuit of Sporting star Viktor Gyokeres.
The Sweden international has an £86million release clause and has also been tracked by clubs including Manchester United and Liverpool.
According to The Independent, the Gunners are set to shift their attention away from Gyokeres as they believe his strength and holding play do not match what Mikel Arteta needs in a No.9.
Arsenal are looking for a striker who can move down the wings and run down the wings, prompting the club to cool their interest in Ivan Toney and move Newcastle's Alexander Isak further up their target list.
Man Utd sees double bid rejected
Manchester United have seen a joint bid for Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui rejected by Bayern Munich, The Athletic reports.
The Red Devils are keen to acquire the services of both defenders as soon as possible, with five-year contracts already agreed with both players.
United and the agents of both players believed the offer would “satisfy” Bayern's demands and were therefore surprised that the bid was rejected.
Discussions are underway to find a solution.
