Thiago Messison of the Argentine star Lionel Messimade his LaLiga FC Futures debut with Inter Miami.
Despite his group stage loss to Barcelona, Thiago shared his thoughts on the tournament, his father and his dreams for the future in an interview with Jose Ramon de la Morena.
It is not surprising that Thiago is considering a career in professional football, given that he has been immersed in the sport since birth.
There are also similarities between Cristiano Ronaldo and his own eldest son, who plays football at youth level.
Asked about his own playing hopes, Thiago was clear in his objectives.
“Playing makes me more nervous than watching my dad play,” Thiago admitted.
“I'm not good with my left foot. I want to play for the Argentine national team.”
Thiago's favorite goal with Lionel
Thiago also shared his favorite goal scored by his father, and it might well come as a surprise given the fact Thiago wasn't even born in 2009 when this happened.
“My father's best goal was the header against Manchester United in the Champions League final,” he concluded.
Barcelona have found success thanks to the products of their La Masia training system, with Lionel Messi being the most famous example.
Lamine Yamal is the latest potential superstar to emerge from that famous system, and his own emergence has not gone unnoticed by Thiago Messi.
“One day I would like to play with Lamine Yamal,” he added.
