Micky van de Ven had an unforgettable evening against Manchester City
Football fans are convinced Micky van de Ven pooped himself during Tottenham's League Cup win over Manchester City.
The defender was part of the Spurs team that knocked Pep Guardiola's injured City side out of the League Cup on Wednesday night.
Timo Werner opened the scoring for the home side before Pape Matar Sarr doubled Spur's advantage midway through the first half.
The in-form Matheus Nunes halved the deficit just before the break but City, despite their best efforts, failed to equalize in the second half.
However, it was a moment from the first half that caught the attention of football fans on social media, after a clip of Van de Ven clutching his behind went viral.
The proximity of a mud stain on the Dutchman's shorts suggested that he had had an accident during the match.
Social media user @wfurnell commented: “Did Van de Ven piss himself off? [poo emoji].”
@Bairdric1 replied: “The old man takes out a rock. Nice technique.
@Jerod_Frank added: “Ange said leave everything on the field and Mickey said 'Bet'. »
@azkafchri, sensing a chance to take the lead over rivals Arsenal, said: “Faced Man City and he pissed himself off.” [x2 crying emoji] Saliba would never do it.

Micky van de Ven needed treatment on the pitch during Spurs' League Cup win
Things weren't quite what they seemed however, with Van de Ven instead holding the back of his leg after picking up what appeared to be a hamstring injury.
The brown substance that fell from Van de Ven's shorts was a piece of dirt that he had unfortunately picked up on his way to the ground, but that didn't stop supporters on social media from enjoying a joke at the expense of the Dutch.
Moments after the now infamous clip, the defender fell to the ground and had to be treated by Spurs' medical team.
Van de Ven got back to his feet, but the 23-year-old left the field in tears after suffering another injury setback.
Commenting after the contest, manager Ange Postecoglou revealed: “Micky felt something in his hamstring.

“I don’t have a full update on him but he definitely felt something and we’ll see how he’s doing.”
Alarm bells will undoubtedly ring in north London, given Van de Ven missed 12 matches with a hamstring injury last season.
Postecoglou also can't afford for his starting centre-half to be out for too long, given a run of tricky matches looms on the horizon for Spurs.
Tottenham host Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon, before facing Galatasaray in Istanbul the following Thursday.
A home game against Ipswich Town follows, with Spurs returning for their first game after the November international break at City.
