Arsenal and West Ham lead Premier League's most expensive beer sales
Premier League fans are just days away from the start of the new season and there's no doubt they'll be drinking a lot of beer over the opening weekend. But some fans will be forced to shell out more than others, with beer prices varying wildly from stadium to stadium.
The most expensive pint in the Premier League costs more than double the cheapest, with Arsenal and West Ham sadly sharing the top spot. A pint at the Emirates or London Stadium will set punters back a whopping £6.30.
While four of the top five are located in the English capital, Leicester City are the surprise package, with their high price tag of £5.80 per pint making the King Power Stadium the third most expensive Premier League venue to drink a beer at.
Aside from Arsenal, the other three teams that qualified for last season's Champions League will all charge £5 per pint or less, with Aston Villa sitting right at that level, putting them in mid-table in terms of beer prices, with Manchester City charging £4.60 and Liverpool £4.40.
Special mentions go to Brentford for offering the cheapest pint of any London-based Premier League club (£4), and Ipswich Town for offering the second cheapest pint overall (£3.50), but this year's title once again goes to Manchester United.
Beer prices have been reduced at Old Trafford in 2021, with fans now able to get their hands on pints of draught beer for just £3 this year. Rick McGagh, United Fans Forum season ticket representative, and Ian Stirling, vice-chairman of the Manchester United Supporters' Trust, happily shared the news when the changes were first made.
Old Trafford is home to the cheapest beer in the Premier League
“Ian and I met with the club to discuss the price of beer in the stadium,” McGagh wrote on social media. “We are pleased they listened and have reviewed the prices for the 21/22 season.
“All areas of the stadium (except hospitality) will now benefit from cheaper beer prices (which I'm sure will be the cheapest in the Premier League).”
