Jude Bellingham used by Real Madrid as 'surprise agent' in attempt to sign England star

Jude Bellingham is reportedly being used by Real Madrid in an attempt to lure England star Trent Alexander-Arnold to the Bernabeu. The pair were both part of Gareth Southgate's Euro 2024 squad as the Three Lions reached the final before losing to Spain.

Alexander-Arnold has only started his country's first two games at Euro 2024 but has carved out a reputation as one of the most technically gifted players in Europe during his time at Liverpool.

The 25-year-old has won the Champions League and Premier League for the Reds but has just one year left on his current contract at Anfield.

Fabrizio Romano has explained that Real are attentive to players who are reaching the end of their contracts, reporting in March that the La Liga giants were monitoring Alexander-Arnold's situation.

And according to AS, Bellingham has become a “surprise agent” for Alexander-Arnold and is trying to convince the versatile player to move to Spain.

Bellingham is said to be on good terms with his England team-mate, with the pair having become friends during Euro 2024. And their relationship could prove vital to any decision the Liverpool ace makes.

Alexander-Arnold came through Liverpool's academy and made his Premier League debut under Jürgen Klopp in late 2016. He went on to make 310 first-team appearances, scoring 19 goals and providing 81 assists.

The successful star also boasts Club World Cup, FA Cup and Carabao Cup titles after becoming a key player under his former manager.

But if he does end up leaving Anfield it would mean a complete turnaround from the position he had when he broke through as a 20-year-old.

“I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else but Liverpool,” the player said in 2018. “I want to stay at Liverpool for the rest of my career. That’s what I’ve always dreamed of. Liverpool is special. It’s all about the fans. Whether we win or lose, we always have their love.”

Alexander-Arnold may believe he has achieved all he can at Liverpool and may not be keen to start all over again under new manager Arne Slot.

And if he decides to join forces with Bellingham at Real Madrid, he would be joining one of the best players in the world.

Bellingham joined the Bernabéu last summer after three years at Borussia Dortmund. The 21-year-old scored 23 goals and provided 13 assists in his debut season in Spain.
