Arsenal inspired a new life in its hopes of the title of Premier League which fades with a victory in moral stimulation against Manchester City on the ground at home.

They entered the match knowing that the defeat would give them a mountain to climb, but a ruthless exhibition allowed them to win the three points categorically.

Martin Odegaard opened the scoring after only 104 seconds, City being made to pay to abandon the ball in a dangerous area. A few moments later, Kai Havertz wasted a huge chance to double Arsenal's advance with a blatant failure at close range.

Visitors equalized by Erling Haaland after the break, the norwegian imposing the highest amount to go home. Thomas Parte resumed the advance for Arsenal just 28 seconds later, finding the most distant corner using a deviation.

Myles Lewis-Skelly added a third just after the hour, Havertz making amends to his previous failure by obtaining his own goal.

Ethan Nwaneri caught a fifth brilliant in the moving seconds of the stop time, finding the net with a curling effort to add an additional shine to the score.

Arsenal Player Ratings vs Man City

David Raya – 7

Make an astonishing stop to refuse Josko Gvardiol a directed goal of a corner, making him switch to the crossbar at full trunction. It also went well to prevent Savinho from scoring despite his way of passing. Was unfortunate to concede in the second half.

Jurrien Timber – 6

Fought a little in the first half with City having a joy on its side of the field. I was reserved for having released Savinho, letting himself be walked on a tightrope. Improved after the break and cut with a few important blocks.

William Saliba – 6

Moved the ball intelligently to help Arsenal beat the press and build rear attacks. Was overwhelmed by Haaland for the equalizer and should have really done more to win the header, but that didn't matter at the end.

Gabriel – 7

Was clearly drawn, putting himself in the face of Haaland after the first goal. Has his defensive tasks sufficiently well and was particularly solid in the air, helping to maintain the minimum of the chances of the city.

Myles Lewis -Skelly – 9

Was not afraid to move, winning most of his battles against larger and stronger players. Took its exceptionally good goal, showing the composure beyond its tender years. Its strongest performance to date.

Thomas Partey – 9

Used his immense physics and intelligent positioning to stifle attacks. Produced a moment of magic from the outside of the box to find the arsenal advance, although with the help of a deviation. One of the best performers on his side.

Declan Rice – 8

Was in the right place at the right time to nourish Havertz in the accumulation of the opening lens. Covered a lot of ground, bombing forward to support attacks and find it to defend. His strong pressing kept Arsenal on the front foot.

Martin Odegaard – 8

Produced a nice finish to open the score and did not have the chance not to get help a few moments later. Organized the show in the midfield, giving a deep fall to help in defense if necessary. Reserved for losing its cool but otherwise gave the example.

LEANDRO TROSSARD – 7

Started the movement, which led to the first goal with an excellent pressing for Nick the Ball off Akanji. Worked hard to make things happen in the last third before being replaced late.

Gabriel Martinelli – 6

Had the ball in the net a few minutes after the opening goal, but saw his strike excluded for offshore. Went a little silent after that and had a hard time having the kind of impact he would have liked.

Kai Havertz – 7

It was disinterested the ball in Odegaard for the opening goal, but missed a chance of gold to equalize after another error in the city, without even reaching the target despite as much time. Amended with a nice finish in the fence stages.

Substitutes

Ethan Nwaneri – 7

Living alive after having come for Leandro Trossard and was rewarded with a highest quality objective.

Mikel Merino – 6

Did his job enough after replacing Martin Odegaard.

Raheem Sterling – N / A

A late addition.

Riccardo Calafiori – N / A

A late addition.
