Manchester City have been accused by Real Valladolid of “tapping” their teenage defender Juma Bah.

The Spanish club say the 18-year-old and his agent informed them on Tuesday that he would unilaterally terminate his contract.

They further allege that the Sierra Leonean player did not show up for training on Wednesday morning.

Valladolid points the finger at City, saying it is “behind this decision” and “advised the player to take this route”.

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) reportedly informed Valladolid on Wednesday that the funds necessary to activate the termination clause in Bah's contract had been paid.

In a statement, the Spanish first division club expressed their feeling of being placed in a “defenseless position” by City and said they “reserve the right to resort to the appropriate legal and sporting jurisdictions to exercise (our ) rights and defend (our) interests”.

They added: “The intention of the player, supposedly supported and guided by Manchester City and his agent, caused great disappointment and indignation within Real Valladolid, who welcomed Juma Bah with open arms and gave him given the opportunity of a lifetime.”

Manchester City declined to comment on the matter.

Bah first moved from AIK Freetong in his home country to Valladolid last summer.

City have already strengthened their defensive ranks this month, facing competition from their Premier League rivals to secure the signings of Abdukodir Khusanov from Lens and Palmeiras prospect Vitor Reis.
