The January transfer window lasts almost a week and fans are yet to see the market come to life. It's believed that a single large transaction could be enough to get the ball rolling in a month when business is typically tricky.

Manchester United will be hoping the trigger point comes soon, with Ruben Amorim needing cash to invest in players who can play their 3-4-2-1 system. The Red Devils redeemed themselves with a draw at Anfield on Sunday, but fans will not want the club to become complacent.

The likes of Manchester City, Tottenham and Newcastle are also expected to be active if the right opportunities present themselves, while those in the thick of a Premier League relegation battle will naturally look for ways to strengthen themselves.

Newcastle change 'approved'

Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab have agreed a deal with Newcastle United to sign goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.

The Slovak international has replaced the injured Nick Pope in recent weeks, but now appears to be on his way to the Middle East.

Saudi publication Al-Sharq Al-Awsat reported that the league's financial viability committee approved Dubravka's signing.

However, his move is not expected to officially materialize until he plays for Newcastle in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Arsenal this week.

Ruben Amorim prepares for double blow at Man Utd

Manchester United could lose two players to Juventus this month, with the Turin giants eyeing Tyrell Malacia and Joshua Zirkzee.

The Daily Star claims Juve want a loan-to-buy deal for left-back Malacia, who would be an ideal replacement for Danilo.

Meanwhile, The Sun has reported interest in Zirkzee, who is struggling to establish himself under Ruben Amorim.

The United boss has said he wants Zirkzee to stay, but United could auction the striker in order to fund their own signings.
