Cole Palmer is a childhood Man Utd fan.
Cole Palmer leaving Chelsea for Manchester United would make sense, given he was a fan of the club since childhood, according to Louis Saha. However, the former Red Devils striker can only see Palmer moving away from Stamford Bridge to one club: Real Madrid.
Chelsea raised eyebrows last year when they spent £42.5million to sign the Manchester City striker and handed him a seven-year contract.
But Palmer put any doubts to rest by contributing 36 goals and 21 assists in his first 62 appearances for the Blues.
He has established himself among the poster boys of the Premier League, naturally sparking discussions about how he can take his blossoming career to the next level.
Saha weighed in on the discussion, admitting he could imagine Palmer making a stunning switch to Old Trafford in the future.
“Cole Palmer at Manchester United would make sense one day because he grew up being a fan of the club, but I only see him at one club after Chelsea,” the Frenchman told Complete Sports.
However, Saha added that he believes the cold talisman can achieve the epitome of club football by signing for Real.
He continued: “I can see him on a trajectory towards Real Madrid, and I don't think this move would set him up for failure; he never doubts himself and never thinks too long.
Cole Palmer has become a world-class star.
“He wants to enjoy his game and he's having fun. I'm very jealous of Chelsea because he's a big star and I think he would be very successful if he went to Spain.”
Palmer will be happy at Chelsea, where he backs an unlikely challenge for the Premier League title in Enzo Maresca's first season in charge.
The 22-year-old has also established himself in the England team, winning 11 senior caps since his debut in November 2023 and scoring in the Euro 2024 final.
Saha praised his mentality and consistency, insisting United lack both qualities.

“Looking back, it's easy to say that Manchester United should have signed Cole Palmer from Manchester City, but it wasn't so obvious at the time,” Saha explained.
“Watching him now you can see he lives for the game and always wants to play and improve.
“He constantly proves people wrong and there are no limits to what he can accomplish. I'm a big fan of his mentality and consistency.
“United don't have that at the moment; they also have the headache with the director of football. It's not easy.”
