Ruben Dias gave a frosty interview after Manchester City's 2-0 defeat to rivals Liverpool at Anfield, appearing to bite a journalist as the Premier League champions' miserable run continues.
A first-half goal from Cody Gakpo and a late Mohamed Salah penalty were enough to give the Reds a deserved victory to put them nine points clear at the top and 12 clear of City.
Remarkably, Pep Guardiola's men have now gone seven games without a win in all competitions, losing six games in that time, and will next face Nottingham Forest at the Etihad.
But the Portuguese centre-back insists he and his team-mates will not dwell on their defeat to Liverpool, focusing only on what lies ahead.
“Our analysis is simple at the moment, we have Nottingham [Forest next] and we want to win, and that's what we have in mind,” Dias said. “The only thing we have in mind right now is that we want to win against Nottingham.
“Obviously at the moment it's not easy to come here, it's always a difficult stadium to visit. And the team has shown a lot of character, so we don't have anything in mind at the moment .”
Asked by the interviewer how the players communicate with each other, Dias became even more irritated: “You know you're talking to one of the players from one of the most winning teams in the world in recent years?
“So maybe think about it and make sure we know how to deal with it.”

The journalist then tried to calm the situation by saying that because City were winning a lot of games, he wanted to know how they were going to try to get out of their bad situation. The 27-year-old replied: “Easy. Next game. One game at a time. Nothing else.
“These are the ones [games] that everyone wants to play, those we will always remember and these difficult circumstances for the stadium itself and for the moment we are going through. That's when you see the warriors you have at your side. »

Guardiola smiled in response to chants of “you're sacked in the morning” from the home side, with the Catalan tactician holding up six fingers to represent the number of titles he has won.
And the 53-year-old has pledged his support for his team to return to winning ways when key players recover from injuries.
“I want the team and the players to come back. It's important because now the training sessions are better and four or five players are coming back,” Guardiola said.
“I have the feeling that from there we will start to build something. Call me delusional, but I have the feeling that from there we will start to rebuild winning matches and trust.”
